Thoroughly Furnished

Wouldn't it be awesome to buy a house with all the furniture already in it. A microwave placed in the kitchen. Stainless steel, double door refrigerator with and ice maker and water dispenser standing in its place full of your favorite foods. A beautiful sectional sofa with a matching recliner that lays all the way out and massages your neck, back and feet.

Beautiful curtains and a crystal clear chandelier hanging in the dining room. A California King bed with a cashmere pillow top mattress and the softest comforter with huge pillows all over it in the master bedroom.

A house that's just so beautiful and filled with the best furniture money can buy.

We could only dream. You see, the Bible says...

1 Corinthians 6:19-20 (KJV)

What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?

[20] For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's.

We are the housing to the Holy Ghost. The Word of God is our instruction book on how to prepare our hearts for the Lord.

2 Timothy 3:16-17 (KJV)

All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:

[17] That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.

It's great to repent and sweep out all those bad parts that don't belong. Repentance is the process of cleaning your heart, but that's just part of the process. You have to make a change and put forth some effort to bring it up to His standards. Many repent or clean out the temple, yet never furnish their heart with the furnishings that would make the Lord feel welcomed. We need to apply His Word.

He wants his temple to be clean, not only clean but also thoroughly furnished. Not with beds and recliners, but with good works.

Galatians 5:22-23 (KJV)

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, [23] Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.

God really wants to live inside of you, after all, that was his plan when he died on Calvary. To not only be with you, but to live IN you. It's up to the individual to do their part and he will do the rest. So If you’re ready to be that temple that God wishes to dwell in, I think it's time to decorate...
